I've opened a ticket with Astaro, asking for the Realtek driver to be updated.

Quote:
Hi, when will the Realtek r8169 NIC driver be updated?

They work fine in Fedora 8 and 9.

MANY people have been asking for this on the forums, for a long time...

It may be simply a case of updating the PCI IDs.

It is really shameful that such a popular device will not work, when it's in the kernel tree and users have been asking for it for almost a year.

These NICs are the only gigE option on MANY of the low-power systems, so suggesting another brand means getting a larger, power-hungry system.

Thank you,
Barry Gould
