Default SMTP Proxy completely dead after upgrade from 6.315 to 7.502

Hi all.

Last night, I upgraded our ASG320 from 6.315 to 7.502. After the upgrade, inbound SMTP proxying is not operational. (We don't use outbound proxying.)

I've followed the directions available in the manual to setup the proxy in Simple mode. I've entered our domain and server IP in the Routing tab. I kept the default AV and spam settings initially, but for troubleshooting purposes, I have unchecked all boxes.

Absolutely nothing comes through. In order to get our email services back up quickly, I have created a DNAT rule, effectively bypassing the proxy. Do not want.

When I disable the DNAT and use telnet to connect to the Astaro box on port 25, I see no banner. I only receive this:
Connecting To mail.<ourdomain>.org...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed

When I re-enable the DNAT, mail flows freely.

I see nothing in the SMTP proxy logs. I see nothing in the Mail Manager.

Please help!

Thanks,
Jake

What do you see in the packet filter log? If there's nothing odd there, please post a pic of the 'Routing' tab.

You must have Astaro Support, so you should go ahead and open a ticket with them.

Question

Hi,
Bob, should there be a MASQ rule for the proxy to talk to the world?
