Default Astaro V5 and PPPoA issue

Greetings. I'm trying to setup my astaro v5 box to connect over my qwest dsl using PPPoA. The DSL modem I'm using is a Cisco 678 setup in transparent bridging mode. I know all my settings are correct for my PPPoA connection but it's not working. Below is my PPPoA log from astaro:

just an update...while looking at the link lights on the modem i noticed there is no traffic at all between the astaro box and the modem while it's supposedly trying to connect. Infact the log continues giving the same messages if the modem's connected or disconnected from the astaro box. I did try to manually ping the modem's ip address 10.0.0.1 which worked so I know the link from eth1 to the modem is good.

do you see dropped GRE (IP 47) packets in the packet filter logs?

hi there all,

thanks for the information.
We found an issue which prevents certain PPPoA connection to work correctly.

we are working on a fix.

I possible workaround could be (no PPPoA in germany ) to add the following packetfilter rule.

SRC: external interface
SRV: GRE
DST: Any
Action: Allow

i hope that helps.

Regards
Gert

Please have a look in the packet filter, if port 1723 is dropped. If xo, please try to enable the pptp service on your ASL. This will set the packet filters, according to your PPPOA connection.
