Default ASL 6.102 and windowsupdate
Hallo,

i have a windows xp sp2 machine in my LAN. The windowsupdate is not running, the asl 6.102 blocks the connect. When I connecting the same machine directly to the adsl-modem, the update runs quickly. How I have to configure asl6.102 so, that the windowsupdate runs. Please, help me.

Are you running the transparent HTTP proxy or something? Disable that if you are...

Hallo,
when I'm disabling the http-proxy and the dns-proxy, the web is not to reach.
I have the http proxy in standard mode, the client has in the configuration of ie the proxy ip and the portnumber.
But windows-update does not run.

Youy have to use masquerading, using proxy with windowsupdate is not working any more, because these server have ips from an ip range which should have been never used.

If you have disabled HTTP proxy and now you can not access the internet from the clients than try clearing the Internet Explorer cache on the clients.

I have seen this happen when using IPCop in proxy mode and then disabling it due to performance issues. Clearing the cache worked for that issue.

I have reinstalled ASL and updated from 6.001 to 6.102. Now the windowsupdate works fine.

Hi

In 6.105 you have to set the http proxy anonymity detection to NONE, to get windowsupdate to work :-/

Thanks for posting, I was having the same issue with microsoft update from behind ASL 6.201 that I just upgraded to.
Once I set the Anonymity: None and cleared the Clear HTTP Proxy Cache -- wait the token 2 minutes, the microsoft updates all function corrctly now.
