Default Advanced Options always diabled

Hi !

I'm trying to configure Qos but donīt get it. Wenn I enable "Adcanced Options" and configure the Qos at my DSL Interface and click save everything seems to be fine, but when I click on the DSL interface again the "Advanced Options" are disabled. Ist this normal oder bug or a feature,.. ? I think thats the Reason why my Qos is not working.

Bernd

P.S. Sorry for my bad english its a long time ago

Click enable > set everything up correctly > click save > exit webadmin > enter webadmin > browse to Interfaces > select your interface > click Enable
Are your settings still there?

The enable disable thing can sometimes be funy. In some cases I think about it as "Hide" and "Unhide".

Itīs a known issue. But all changes are assumed even the button is still red. You can check it in /etc/wfe/conf/itf.conf

Yes, at least at that level.

Ok. Thanks. But it seems to me that Qos is not working. When does QOs work ? When my DSL Line is fully used or always ? I have about 1000 concurrent connections over my router. The loading of Websites is very slow. When I close about 500 of these Connections everything is fine and all Webpages load quick. Btw. Pentium 2 550 MHz; 256 SDRam. 4x 100 Mbit 3Com

How are you generating 1000 connections ? Our office here with 30 staff only generates about 450 connections !

QoS affects outbound traffic only !

You cannot affect inbound traffic since it has already been "sent" to you from your ISP.
(Well you can do it, but it's messy and basically just involves throwing away packets that are over a certain limit forcing the ISP to resend em, messy !)

QoS in Astaro is targetted at Outbound traffic.

1000 connections ? No Problem. I'm testing the Router with Emule. At the moment there are 750 concurrent connections, no affect on Speed oder anything else. But when i go above 1000 connections websites are loading very very slow. For sure you don't have 1000 connections in a Office but for testing its very interessting.
