login.live.com won't load
I'm running ASG Software Firmware version: 7.305 Pattern version: 8817 with http proxy in the transparent mode (I tried normal mode to no avail) and when users try to go to login.live.com the page is just blank, no error or message what so ever. I tried putting in exceptions and transparent mode skiplist items and that didn't help. I have https traffic allowed in the packet filter. I have antivirus off and I turned off all the content categories. There's nothing in the http proxy live log other than it shows the site is getting passed. Nothing in the packet filter live log either. Does anyone know how to let login.live.com through without disabling the http proxy? Thanks! Greg

Do you have HTTPS in the list of allowed target services (Advanced tab, misc settings)?
I just tried to log in over login.live.com, works without problems.
No content filters e.g. activated, they are not licensed.
Proxy cache cleared, also browser caches?

gsxfan,
Thanks. HTTPS is in the list of allowed target services, and I did clear the proxy cache and browser caches with no improvement.

Greg,
sometimes they are fiddling with their website settings. In the past I had several issues when using Firefox, even the blank page like you have.
Have you tried different browsers and also with no proxy use (direct browser access, just for testing)?

Uwe,
Thanks! I've tried Opera, Camino, Firefox and Safari all under Leopard and also IE 6 under Windows XP. All do the same thing. If I switch the http proxy off it's fine.

One more update - our internet connection is satellite and the provider does some proxy/caching stuff and so that's probably a factor here since it's not effecting anyone else and it's just that one site (login.live.com) as far as I know. I had to switch back to Untangle to get around the problem and I also wanted to try Untangle v6. I do miss the stateful firewall and the live logs and so many features of the Astaro. I will probably switch back again and give Astaro another go at some point now that I have the config files saved so switching will be quick and easy.

If anyone has any ideas about how I might be able to get login.live.com to work I would really appreciate it. It it still not working and I have tried everything everyone has suggested and what I could glean from the forums. Thanks!

Well I guess I'm the only one having this problem since nobody is posting to this thread. Today I noticed marketwatch.com was doing the same thing, the page would say "done" but the browser is completely blank with no content showing what so ever. Disabling packet filtering, anti-virus, content filtering etc didn't help. There was nothing in the logs to indicate what the problem is. I suspect it's some interaction with the proxy our satellite isp runs. So I had to switch back to Untangle. I miss the great features of ASG but I need something that works.

who is your isp? comcast early this morning(edt) was having severe routing issues so some sites failed...some partially loaded..some never loaded.

William,
Thanks! Our ISP is Telecorp, a Venezuela satellite internet company but they just resell someone else's service. The earth station is in Colombia. They use the Gilat Skystar e360 modem. There's some weird stuff they're doing like http caching as we get stale pages from a number of sites unless we manually refresh. Our modem's IP is in the reserved range (10.29.x.x ) but our public IP (seen from your side) is 190.7.79.x. I suspect it's something funky the ISP is doing.
