Rendering Problems - please post your screenshots

If you spot rendering anomalies in WebAdmin or the End-User Portal, please take a screenshot and post it in this thread (use JPEG or PNG format).

Please only post problems for the officially supported browser/OS combinations:

* Firefox 1.5 / 2.0 on Linux and Windows
* IE 6 and 7 on Windows
* Safari on Mac OS X Tiger

Please do not report rendering issues for other browsers, in particular Opera and Konqueror.

Please see below for a list of already known issues. I'll update the list as we go along.

Some trivia: The ASG v7 GUI makes heavy use of JS DOM functions to create screen content on the fly. It also uses aggressive caching of configuration objects (at the expense of client RAM and a post-login waiting time) to speed up rendering of individual configurations. The worst browser to use is IE6 (which is not really surprising). If you for some weird reason still use this thing please upgrade to IE7 or Firefox. The best browser to use is Firefox 2.0 on Linux and Windows, and Safari on OS X. Firefox 3.0alpha seems to have the fastest JS interpreter, so maybe try that one if you are adventurous.


KNOWN ISSUES:

1) All browsers: Definitions->Networks and Services pages can take a while to render with a larger number of definitions.
2) IE 6: Dropdown elements overlap popup windows. This is a bug in IE6. Workaround: update to IE7.

If you have to scroll down to select a Item in the Hosts List the dragging Item starts at a wrong position. It is impossible to select is.

It would be very helpful to add items by doulbeclick or by keyboard.

Problems when administrating with Safari (latest version of OSX)

1. Dashboard refreshes but the information doesn't change, even from one admin session to another. I still have dashboard telling me there's new patterns to install, but I've already applied that patch. In addition, the hardware statistics never change. This may be a known issue.

2. The ajax popup that lets you select services, networks, or users for a variety of panels only works once. I can open it, select something, but if I try to open it again nothing happens. If I use firefox for OSX it works fine.

There is the following issues when IE7 or IE6 is used by the display relation of the quarantine message.

1)Quarantine Manager
1.When the show message icon is clicked, new window doesn't do open and I can't view a message.
2.When the download message icon is clicked, the content of mail is displayed in new window, and it is not possible to download message. (Reference:download_message.JPG)

2)End User Portal
1.In show message, the field of headers is not folded.(Reference:show_message.JPG)

This issue is fixed in the final version. Actually the overlay was right in place, but due to the fade out effect of the overlay it was fully transparent. That effect has been caused by the "weak" opacity/transparency handling of Safari.

That's a known issue. Problem here is that Internet Explorer just sees the file extenion (.eml) and thinks it has to display the message instead of prompting for download (firefox, safari on all systems are showing the correct behaviour).
