Default [7.260] mlppp [FEATURE]

Hello!

Would love if the ability to setup MLPPP was added. This would be extremely usefull.

With an option to setup multilink over a single line (two PPOE session over one physical link) or multiline would be nice.

Just a thought.

Hi atticka,

do you really mean MultilinkPPP?

Do you have ISP's that support that or do you mean something like "ISP Uplink/DSL Load Balancing" where the ASG utilizes two independent uplinks equally with fail-over?

thanks
Gert

Hi Gert,

I mean MultilinkPPP (MLPPP). My ISP supports single line (two PPOE sessions over the same physical link, usefull for bypassing Bell's throttling) or multiple lines bonded for additional throughput.

Currently, the popular solution is to use Tomato/MLPPP on a consumer brand broadband router (details here http:,//fixppp.org/index.php?p=documentation), however I understand it is possible to set this up in a Linux environment (details here http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...Guide-on-Linux).

Should be relatively easy to add a feature like this to Astaro, what do you think?

I second, third, fourth this request!

Several of my ASG220s are on Bell Canada serviced ADSL lines, and MLPPP would allow me to fix some issues we have.

Pleaaaaasssseee consider adding this

Just wanted to bump this up.

I would gladly assist in whatever way I can to get this done.

Wouldn't be hard provided the pppoe package has support for the mlppp.

A couple of guys who aren't even really devs managed to take the Tomato WRT distribution and get it going for Linksys devices.

Come on Astaro
