[7.450][DUPE][FIXED] Images Display On Google Problem

Hello all.

Have discovered a small problem...

I have the web proxy set in transparent mode without ssl filtering. I have blocked a few catagory's but to remove the posibility of the filters creating a problem I have now unchecked all the web filter catagory's. All filtering is off and file blocking is off. Web proxy is as unrestricted as possible without being off.

However. When looking at the following URL or indeed any URL on google images I cannot see any images. frogs - Google Image Search

The same happens when trying to browse to the path to the image directly. http://tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:...gs-posters.jpg I get a 404 error.

Turning the web proxy off resolves the problem completely.

I may be wrong but it doesnt look like they have been blocked. If they have forgive me as I dont allways read these logs correctly.

If it is allowing then hopefully my fellow testers can re-create the problem. This problems appears on IE8 and on IE7

I had the same error that many photos were not shown. I have the proxy cache in the Astaro emptied. Now everything is running normally

I think this issue is related to httpproxy url parser,

the url: http://tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:...gs-posters.jpg, which is trying to present the pic in a thumbnail is being handled incorrectly by the proxy and request is being truncated and sent as:

http://tbn2.google.com/2009/03/1155-...gs-posters.jpg

And that is why google gives error: "The requested URL /2009/03/1155-3004frogs-posters.jpg was not found on this server. "

That is why google images gives place holder only for search results, there are tons of "404" if you look at your http traffic with "live http header".

I believe Astaro engineers are looking at the proxy parser issue, I am hoping update will be released soon to resolve this.

Trying disable proxy if this problem is so critical for your situation.

Hello all.

I do indeed see loads of 404 errors and would have to agree with the parser theory.

Just for clarification this happens to me on both IE8 and IE7 with all filtering and cache options turned off, In fact the we proxy is configured as close as you can get to off as none of the options are on aside from the proxy itself.

Turning off the proxy resolves the issue.
