Default [CONFIRMED, FIXED] [7.450] DUPE: BUG: google picture search problem

hi folks,

since i have installed the 7.5 beta version, i hardly found problems

but today i encountered something strange, when i try to find pictures with googles picture search .. all i get is blank boxes with a red x, when i click this "hits" i get error msgs similar to "file not found"

tried on 3 different machines and browsers like firefox, iexplorer and opera ...
same problem .. no pictures found ...

normal browsing works like before .. no problems .. all pictures are where they belong on the certain websites

when i disabled the http proxy .. bang .. there are the pictures,
googles pictures search works now without any problem
but i like to have my http/https proxy on

any ideas .. ??

greetings mike

hi mike,

thks for sharing your experience on this.

it is rather curious how this is working out for you. many of us having issue with httpparser (we assume) which breaks site such as google image.

can anyone confirm this? I can't see how sso auth fixes proxy url parser.

thks.

Hi Folks,
I think you are trying to use the http proxy in the wrong mode. For just web access you should be using transparent proxy. I can't remember the exact details of how to use the fully transparent proxy, but it had something to do with how your security system is setup (user authentication etc). One of the very early posts covered this subject. Please try searching in this forum.

Ian

Fully transparent mode is designed for networks where every Web client has a public IP address and Astaro still filters the traffic but preserving the clients' IPs. In standard transparent mode the ASG is using NAT and all requests to external web servers come from only one IP.

Hi Ian,

Thks for your reply, however I want to understand what you trying to clarify.

I am using transparent proxy (not full) and I have problem with google image (lots of 404) for which I assume caused by url parser in proxy mode.

Are you saying we should be using full transparent mode with user authentication in order to use site such as google image?

Regards.

Claude

I have had the same problem here with the proxy.

My thread now states fixed but the problem is still there.

Is there any news on the resolution of the issues found so far ?

Hi folks,

well, the google picture search problem is the same with all transparent modes.
The transparent user authentication wont help you on this issue.

(fully on/off does not make a difference, i knew Fully is for very special infrastructures)
also with the transparent authentication i have this problem

Error Msgs is:
Google Error Not Found
The requested URL /asset/Image/2005/11/22/kanzler/adenauer.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forum.ftd.de/politik/deutschland/151740.html%3Fcp%3D7&usg=___2Gn0XOdWMDdSe83wb61UNR gjxY=&h=500&w=375&sz=31&hl=de&start=1&tbnid=dqFqhO T3gt17DM:&tbnh=130&tbnw=98&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dadenauer&gbv%3D2&hl%3Dde&safe%3Doff&s a%3DG was not found on this server.

It works with Active Directory SSO and Standard mode.

I will keep it with the AD SSO, works okay. I just wonder why the Standard mode works as well, since none of my browsers are configuered for using a 8080 proxy.
Maybe another bug ?

Greetings Mike
