Default [7.450] BUG ? NTP errors: operation not permitted

Hi

in view log files for system messages I've lot's of messages for ntpd:

Code:
2009:06:17-00:39:12 asg ntpd[11763]: sendto(88.191.80.132) (fd=19): Operation not permitted
2009:06:17-00:39:33 asg ntpd[11763]: sendto(87.98.143.174) (fd=19): Operation not permitted
is this normal ? maybe a missing packet filter rule or something ?

thx

Do you have a rule allowing ntp traffic for outgoing port 123?

can you give us some screenshots of your ntp settings? Did you have also ntp packet drops in packetfilter.log if this message appear?

Greetings
Andreas

this was on 7.450, I've reinstalled 7.460 since... and I've no more errors... but I was using default settings... maybe linked to another issue that had been fixed in 7.460 ?

thx

Hi,

we rolled out a new ips pattern up2date during the time. Maybe your problem is linked to a false positive of afc or ips. Because I cannot see any source change of ntp between 450 and 460. So it seems to be not a bug anymore

Greetings
Andreas
