Default [7.450] BUG: live log for remote access/openvpn not working all the time..

Hi

don't know if this is general... but if I go to remote access/ssl (openvpn) click on the openvpn live log... then in the previous window click on enable/disable button... the live log is not updated all the time... most of the time it is refreshed once but no more log after 1 or 2 clicks on the enable/disable openvpn button...

thx

Hi,

I would say that this is no bug. The logging is linked to the process id of openvpn. If you deactivate/activate it the ssl vpn has a new process id and so the window has still the same information and get not updated.

Greetings
Andreas

oh ok... then it's not a bug... just a cosmetic where u can automatically close the log live window if we disable openvpn... else we can find it not consistent compared to the ipsec site2site behaviour ! (there we have any log for any process id...)

thx

hi,

OK I was wrong. I discussed this with on of the R&D guys. The live log should do only the same like tail -f /var/log/openvpn.log. If you disable/enable it there is no link to any process ID. I will forward it to the development guys

Greetings
Andreas

Hi Bubu,

we cannot confirm it with version 7.460. Does this problem exist only in 7.450 or in 7.460, too?

Greetings

I'm not able to reproduce this into 7.460, so probably only in 7.450 ?

thx

between 7.450 and 7.460 there is a complete new middleware and an new confdaemon. This could be the reason why it is not reproducable anymore.

it makes no sense to reproduce it with an older version. Because we changed a lot in the backend in the newer one. If this is not able with 7.460 it seems to be no bug.

Greetings
Andreas
