Default Packet filter creation issue.

When I create a packet filter and I put in some bad info (Missing part of an IP range for example) it flashes a red box around the incorrect entry.

If you forget to put in a name, it does not flash this box and it lets you save it. You get a jiberish name and the filter sometimes disapears after a few seconds.

I also tried this on the demo version and it does this to.

Bug or poor user intreaction.

Hi, please put the version number in the subject of your message, e.g.
[7.450] or [7.460]

Thanks,
Barry

Hi,

if you forget a name for the rule then a REF number will be set as name thats normal :-)

But could you please explain me what you mean with "the filter sometimes disapears after a few seconds". If I create a rule without name it's still listed in the packet filter rule list.

Greetings
Andreas

Just that.

I create a rule and forget the nameit and save . It gets names something crazy like qoiewh47dj49 which I can see in the rules. Then in a second or two it is just gone. The rule is not there at all.

I can refresh, log out and in, but it is no longer there.

Is there a way to mass import a large number of CIDR address to be blocked?

Thank you,

C68

that's strange ... I double checked it with a fresh installed 7.460. I'm not able to set a name for the packetfilter rule. Could you please provide me some screenshots of your installation?

Greetings
Andreas

When I rebuit my box with 7.470, the issues seems to be fixed.

I was able to rename the filter that I had not previously given a name, save it and the PF did not go away.
