[7.460][DUPE][ANSWERED] unscannable contented mail comes to inbox

Hi Friends !

I am TESTING pop3 mails,while i tryed 1 mail which is password protected zip file it come to mail inbox as i configure it to go to Quarantine unscannable content as a http/s files we are not able to scan it goes through (web security>>http/s>>advanced>>pass unscanble file) so does that mean pop3 proxy doesnt scan or it doesnt scan passwd protected file for virus also ?


another issuse is when use prefetch mode log doent show details about mail is that ok

another issuse with download blocked mail (extension or spam or virus ,still i want to download)

please check also quarantine marked as a false and release still does it work ?

please check quarantine file (extension blocked) download(after release) size also ?

or how to download a extension blocked file to system
only able to delete

able to download only 20 bytes

what is Flush database log /which logs it suppose to flush ? i dont see any result (mail security>>mail manager>>configuration )

quarantine report by mail doesnt show correct numbers and doesnt show extensiob block and malware mail doesnt get count
0 due to forbidden expressions (0%)
0 due to forbidden extensions (0%)
0 due to unscannable content (0%)

I am a bit confused about how you can direct a pop3 mail message with a http message in it to the http/s proxy. Pop3 has a function to quarantine unscannable messages.

I raised this under 7.4xx, but no-one could replicate the issue so it was dropped.

Hi Ian,

OK! i have download a file which is ziped with password when i tryed to download that file using http/s it gives error because antivirus cant scan passwd protected file so we have to use option pass unscsnble file in websec>>https>advance>misc the same kind of option is avilable in miail sec also it it says quarantine unscanale file as it passwd protect it suppose to go to quarnatine but it comes to inbox

Yes Sir,

If you can zip the file with password protect and try to mail to u r pop account ,to check same thing you can post same file on some of server and try to download it please see previous post to see how it can be done (i have acess to some site they have some files with passwd protect )

select Quarantine unscannable content from mail security>>pop3>>antivirus

as it passwd protected file anti virus should/will not able to scan it (?)
do u want more info ?

with http it gives -----Archive contains encrypted contents message/error in browser

Hi this is a known issue with 7.4x. A fix should be included in the next beta up2date 7.470

please wait until 7.470 is released. If this is still exist I will create a bug id. But with the current version it will not work. I cannot provide you a list because this information is from our internal bug tracking system ;-)

Hi Andreas ,

Can u please tell me any other issues on which internal bug tracking system is working so i will not SPEND time on that i will try to explore other unknown issues
