That's only because it just restarted. Check again tomorrow, maybe memory consumption is less, maybe it isn't.

installed via webadmin, it went successfully this time - unlike the previous up2date that I just couldn't install it but to do a full install using iso

Hi folks,
less memory in use, good bad or indifferent, don't know.

Installation. Nothing in the ASG other than the RSS notification. I downloaded the up2date package, it was a huge improvement on previous beta downloads. Now limited by a line fault.
Added the up2date package the the ASG, nothing happened, no messages anywhere. Went to add it again, still nothing after the 3rd time the ASG advised there was a package for update. I logged off between adding the up2date package waited a minute or 2 and logged in again.
I started the install, no idea whether it was working or not except by looking at the hard drive led.
I had to leave at that stage to go to work.
I checked from work and the installation had completed and restarted successfully.
Tonight I have 3 e-mail messages advising there are 3 different versions of v7.470 to be installed (I know it is only one with a function that will be withdrawn on the final release of v7.5).

I received the updat this morning. Memory usage is lower although CPU usage is higher. Those items could also change over the next day or two. I will watch and see what happens.

I had no issues using the automatic Up2Date firware update. One thing I have learned though from previous upgrades. Once you press the "update" button. Just relax and wait it out (5-10 minutes) and don't reload the admin page or press any other buttons.

You can sort of see the status by opening a dos window and typing:

ping -t <asg ip>

and watching to see the pings stop and then restart. Once you see the pings start again, the system is nearly restarted.

When 7.5 is released to GA will it upgrade the current 7.4X versions with update built in?

Another qustion is can I apply an update to my current 7.404 system to upgrade it to the Current Beta or does this have to be a clean instal and if that is the case does the 7.404 backup confguration import into the 7.470 version??

Chow11, there's a bug which I re-reported in the beta process; the [Watch Up2Date Progress in new window] button does not appear unless you leave the Up2Date Overview tab and then return to it.
