Thumbs up ASG 7.100 BETA challenge - CONTEST CLOSED - results inside!

In order to give you a good reason to install, test and use the ASG 7.100 BETA version, Astaro is holding a small bug reporting contest for UBB users. Here is how it works:

Please report bugs in this forum by opening a new thread. Include the BETA version number and a small synopsis in the thread title. For example:

[7.075] HTTP Proxy dies after lunch

For each bug you report, I'll award a number of "points". How many depends on how much useful information you include in your report. So please include as much information as possible. You should at least describe your configuration and what the effect of the bug is. Including log file snippets, tcpdumps, screenshots and other helpful items may get you additional points. Hint: Bug reports along the line of "It does not work, please help" will probably not score many points.

You can report any bug you find, however it must be a "new" bug (one that is not already filed in our internal issue tracker). I'll keep track of the found bugs in this posting. Please check the list below before reporting. Also I am the final instance in report evaluation. Please do not start discussions about the fairness of the process.

Those bugs that Astaro has already confirmed will be moved to the "ASG V7.100 beta confirmed issues" forum. Please check both forums for already reported bugs. Reporting dupes will not get you any points.

When the BETA phase ends, the three top UBB bug reporters will receive a Nintendo Wii, shipped to your house or office.

Thumbs up

As 7.100 has now been released, the contest is officially over. We've seen a lot of feedback here in the last two weeks. In fact we've seen so much feedback that it was not possible to follow up on each and every posting made. We're sorry about that. However we think that the CONFIRMED issues listed in the table above represent both the major issues and the persons that reported them.

The winners of the Nintedo Wii game consoles are:

ReD-Man
ClausP
JuergenH

These individuals should send their full name and postal address to tkistner@astaro.com.

Additionally, we would like to reward everyone who posted feedback in these forums during the BETA phase with an extended home use license that covers 50 users. You'll receive an email with the details.

Once again, Astaro would like to thank all UBB users who have participated in the 7.100 BETA test phase! The direct contact has been invaluable. We'll repeat the whole process for the next bigger release (probably numbered 7.200), and we look forward to seeing you posting in this forum again.

On behalf of the Astaro R&D team,

Cheers

/tom

Doggone it... I thought it was six consoles http://up2date.astaro.com/2007/11/pu...ased.html#more

No biggie though, just glad we had a good beta to wring out the release... my experience so far, other than an issue with AD SSO (astaro support is working the case), is that this release is going to be great.

Thanks to Tom and the rest of the guys here on the board... I guess I'll see you all when the 7.200 beta rolls around (hint, hint)

I just discovered that the text on that page is very misleading. There were two contests, one UBB only (3 Wiis), and one which required you to sign up on our web site. The latter is more "official" in nature.

Anyway, the page behind the link you posted is mixing up the two completely ... sorry.

I believe it is the normal home user license (including AV, HTTP Filtering, etc), but instead of being 10 IP, it will be 50 IP.
